CPD 2024 - 2025 for Class 1 and 2 Licence Agents


From 1 July 2024, class 1 and 2 licence agents must complete 5 hours of training on compulsory topics relevant to the class of licence they hold.

 

Compulsory topics must be delivered by a training provider approved by the Strata and Property Services Commissioner. 

 

Compulsory topics must be delivered in:

  • A face-to-face interactive training environment (maximum 40 attendees), or
  • An interactive webinar (maximum 25 attendees, and
  • include an assessment activity.

If you are unable to complete 5 hours of CPD training in an interactive environment, you may complete a minimum of 10 hours of CPD by online module as an alternative. This must include all compulsory topics relevant to your licence category, plus other training to make up a total of 10 hours.

 

Licensees-in-charge must have all CPD training detailed in the training plan for the agency, and this may be made up of topics most relevant to you. You can download the template HERE.

 

NB: The CPD compulsory topics and approved list of elective topics for Class 1 and 2 licence agents are specified by the NSW Office of Fair Trading. These are non-accredited courses and will not lead to the issuance of AQF certification.


Combined Residential Salespeople & Residential Property Managers

 

Compulsory topics (5 hours)

  1. Introduction to work health and safety obligations in residential sales and property management
  2. New Supervision Guidelines for real estate agencies
  3. Introduction to strata for residential salespeople and property managers
  4. Compliance with habitability standards and landlord information statement

*Residential Salespeople are also required to complete online course "Underquoting and price misrepresentations" delivered by TAFE NSW.

Elective topics (5 hours)

 

Class 1 or 2 holders unable to attend the interactive face-to-face or online forums for compulsory topics may complete a minimum of 10 hours of compulsory and elective topics delivered by online module.

 

The 10 hours must comprise of all relevant compulsory topics above and topics from the following approved elective topics:

  • Hazardous Materials – Management and Disclosure
  • How to Successfully Transition Schemes from Original Owner to the Control to Owners Corporation
  • Annual General Meetings – Best Practice Guide
